At 1120 hours the water rescue assignment was transmitted for the paddle boarder in distress off the Via Ripa beach. Squad Company 43 along with the department chief and @seabrightoceanrescue responded. Units arrived to find a male subject removed from the water by local surfers and CPR being administered. ROSC was obtained shortly after and the victim was transported from the beach conscious. A trauma alert was declared due to the MOI and the patient was transported to a local trauma center by the Sea Bright EMS where they are expected to make a full recovery. Two of some of our most important messages were displayed here: never swimming alone and learning CPR! A great collaboration between civilian and first responders. #BorderJumpers #HGH #MYFB #IfYouAintCrockinYouAintRockin ... See MoreSee Less
On behalf of the entire Thompson family, in particular my mother Stevie and my sister Georgia, I want to thank you all for saving my father's life on Sunday. Although still hospitalized, my Pop, Todd E. Thompson will make a full recovery thanks to the Sea Bright Fire Rescue and fellow surfers who spotted him floating face down and raced to his rescue. After several rounds os CPR, Pop's heart began to beat again and that water was forced out of his lungs. To all of those who participated in the rescue, know that we are forever in your debt, and that you are forever in our prayers. Thank you. - An Eternally Grateful Son
Thank you for playing a part in saving the life of one of the most important people in my life. So thankful for my brother/sister first responders and the good samaritans who stepped up and acted heroically! Saddle up folks!
The two young men were Morgen Cushing and Chester English. Close friends of my sons. They are the ones who administered the CPR. They were leaving the beach when they noticed him floating facedown. Turns out the gentleman is an uncle of another friend. I wish the boys got the recognition that they deserve
Thank you English & Cushing and was their a girl on the beach who saw what happened initially? cPR is so important to administer. I have taken it but need a refresher. Thanks also to Sea Bright and anyone else involved. It wasn’t his time and you were his angels.
Nice job ! Everyone involved definitely saved his life.
So happy to learn Todd will be ok! Thank God for surfers looking out for surfer and the excellent work by EMS! sending hugs and hope for a speedy full recovery!

Thank you for your incredible response time and administering the CPR and protocol necessary to save my/our good friend's life. You provided a great example of what professionals can do in crisis mode. Thank you from the victims wonderful family and his very large posse of friends.
The most wonderful outcome to a horrible and tragic event. Kathy and I join Todd and Stevie’s family and friends in a chorus of hallelujahs!! Thank you guys for being there to help us all when ever we need it!!!!

Some of my favorite people in this photo ❤️
Thoughts are with our second family at Company 33.It is with deepest sorrow and regret that the Monmouth Beach Fire Company announce the passing of Ex-Chief William “POP” Marsh (1960).
Ex-Chief Marsh had dedicated his life to the community. He became fire chief in 1960 and began serving as the borough electrician in 1965.
Ex Chief Marsh was a mainstay in Monmouth Beach, with his more than 50-year residence in the same house, and over 70 years as a firefighter and decades of dedication to his family and community.
Services are as follows:

"You sit down in the kitchen you are up for grabs, it doesn't matter if you're the new kid or senior man, it's the great equalizer." Captain Philip Ruvolo RESCUE 2
Captain Ruvolo may have said it best in the documentary Still Riding. A great equalizer, a place where members of the firehouse can come together, bond, bust balls, grow, and learn. Some of the best knowledge can be passed on from member to member.
Do you have a place in your firehouse where members gather? A kitchen table, a day room, a sitting area on the apparatus floor maybe. Does your crew eat meals together. These are things that can make a crew bullet proof. These are things that can bring a crew trust and pride in each other.
The great equalizer. ... See MoreSee Less
Thanks Guys 👍🙏
