Nice save Murf!
Shit yea boys 🤙🏻good stop 🤜🏻🔥🤛🏻
For years we’ve known residential fire spreads faster than it did decades ago.
Depending on the circumstances, people had about 17 minutes to escape a fire 40 years ago.
That number has reduced drastically - today, you have about 3 minutes.
People continue to believe an open bedroom door is safer if they experience a fire, yet research shows closing your bedroom door while sleeping drastically improves the likelihood you will survive.
It isolates the fire’s flow, reduces room temperature,
and keeps both carbon monoxide and smoke levels down.
The difference a closed door makes:
In tests a closed door made a potentially life saving difference in a fire. Here's how:
Closed Door Room -
- More survivable temp <100 degrees
- Livable 18% Oxygen Level
- Less toxic Carbon Monoxide Levels: 100 PPM CO ( parts per million of Carbon Monoxide
Open Door Room-
- Less survivable temp >1000 degrees
- Low 8% Oxygen Level
- Extremely toxic Carbon Monoxide Levels: 10,000 PPM CO
Please take 6 minutes to watch this video so you can see what a dramatic difference a closed door can make when it comes to you and your family's survival, should a fire occur while you are sleeping. In a house fire, are you safer sleeping with your bedroom doors open or closed? See the dramatic, life-saving difference a door can make. #CloseBeforeYouDoze... ... See MoreSee Less
Thank you for posting this!
Learned this years ago and taught my kids the same safety guidelines. We can’t sleep UNLESS the door is shut. 😁 Also, window escape ladders for 2nd story (or higher) bedrooms with no other means of escape (like decks, etc). They are affordable and easily store under the bed.
Having just been certified by the LA city fire department close door is totally right. Also / make sure batteries are working in smoke detectors
